Who am I?  A teacher turned Career Development Practitioner (CDP) who has, through experience, seen the need to introduce career education and planning to youth, much earlier than is typically done now.  Given that my own career journey has gone through a series of detours, I was even more inspired to start this business.

My Background:  I hold a Bachelor of Education degree from Nipissing University, where I specialized in Junior / Intermediate education (Grades 4-10), with a Senior qualification in English. I have worked as a tutor, supply teacher, and an instructor of adults in a high school diploma program. Though I no longer work as a teacher, I remain a member in good standing of the Ontario College of Teachers.

I also possess a Career Development Practitioner (CDP) certificate from Conestoga College, a program from which I graduated with honours. I have worked as an Employment Advisor at the college level,  providing assistance to students on resume writing, cover letter preparation, interview skills, and job search and networking techniques. I have also contributed to a blog geared to other professionals in career development,  and do my best to keep abreast of changes and new developments in the field.

As a Career Coach I Will:

  • Assist your teenager to identify their skills, abilities and interests
  • Coach them on how to relate those findings to possible career paths
  • Empower your teenager to make informed career planning decisions
